Talk Back Messaging SystemBased on the proven commuinication method of instant messaging, RBK Website Design have developed a cross-browser solution to enable clients to interact directly with their website visitors and browsers. What Does Talk Back Do?The Talk Back system allows the client to place a button or link anywhere they like in any form, on their website that a visitor can click on to engage in textual conversation directly with the client or any human sat at the other end. Why does this help? This tool is useful for many applications including technical support, help, enquiries, sales, feed back and many more. Research has proven that many visitors to websites do not find exactly what they are looking for and are often not engaged enough with the site or product to pick up the phone. This may often lead to a lost sale or enquiry that the website's owners would not have even been aware of. By placing a non-intrusive button or link on that page suggesting that the visitor engages in a text messaging style conversation to ask any questions they may have about the item, the client can then ensure that they have done everything possible to retrieve that sale. How do we interact with each other?Once the visitor enters their name or email address into the Talk Back window, they will be provided with a chat window with options to type text, nudge or exit the conversation. Once a message has been sent, the Client will receive a notification in their RBKTalk Panel. They will then be able to enter the conversation with the options to reply, nudge or exit the conversation. Messages and nudges (audible and visual notification) can be sent back and forth for as long as required. Once the Client (Administrator) exits the conversation, the visitors window will be locked to stop any further messages being sent. They can then exit the conversation or close the conversation window. Do I have to download anything? No! The Talk Back system can be easily implemented into any website without the need to download any software, program anything or worry about cross-platform issues. The messaging system requires Javascript to be enabled on both the client and user end computers and more recent versions of web browsers are recommended. The Talk Back chat window opens in the form of a popup and although no issues have been raised so far, it may be advisable to encourage the visitor to disable any popup blockers on your website. Cross Platform / Browser CompatiabilitySo far the Talk Back system has been tested succesfully on the following systems. Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6, 7 & 8
