iLayer Inline Editing Tool

Unique to FPUK Website Designed websites and completely developed by our own team, the iLayer Inline Editing Tool makes optimising, editing and updating your website quick, simple and safe.

What does iLayer do?

The iLayer is accessible from the Client's Administrator Control Panel. Once activated it allows the client / administrator to update the information, (text, descriptions, content),  of the website as they navigate through the website just as a visitor or customer would.

Text Editing

The iLayer will turn any editable text into and editable field when it is clicked. Depending on the type of text, the iLayer will provide an editing box the same size as the original text area for you to add to, edit, update or remove as you please.

Image Editing

Any editable image on the website will give the client/administrator a set of options to swap the image, upload a new one, choose from a list of existing images or simply change the alternative text that is respective to that image.

Search Enging Optimisation (SEO)

The iLayer provides simple, quick to access, page by page Search Engine Optimisation via a drop down bar located at the top of the page. This allows the user to change the page title, meta description and meta keywords for each page of the website without effecting the original data.

This is ideal for testing, manipulating and optimising your SEO strategies.

How does it work?

Page by Page Editing

The iLayer works on a page by page basis, meaning that any changes made to text or images that occur on other pages will only be present on the page that they were edited on.

This is ideal for Search Engine Optimisation as it allows duplicated information to be altered to suit that indivuidual pages requirements without changing them across the rest of the website.

Non-Destructive Editing

All of the editing facilities including image editing and search engine optimisation are done so that the originals can be restored at any time. This gives peace of mind when editing large amounts of text or changing images and it also provides a great solution to swapping or updating info and images for short lived sales and special offers. Just click "revert" in the editing box to switch back to the original at any time.
